Cherry Grove Beach · Little River Inlet
Monthly high & low tide predictions — plan your visit to The Point around low tide.
The Point · Cherry Grove Beach
The Point — the sandy tip at the north end of Cherry Grove Beach where the ocean meets the Intracoastal Waterway — is most spectacular at low tide. When the water pulls back, the sandbar widens and you can walk the full tip, watch dolphins arc through the channel, and feel completely surrounded by the Atlantic.
Tide data is sourced from NOAA Station 8661070 (Little River Inlet, SC), the closest official gauge to Cherry Grove. All times are in Eastern Time and reflect local conditions at The Point.
Arrive 1–2 hours before low tide and stay through it. The sandbar is widest during this window, and early mornings are the least crowded.
At high tide The Point narrows dramatically or disappears entirely. Still scenic, but sandbar access is very limited or none.
The channel between the sandbar and the shore runs fast — especially on an outgoing tide. Stay aware and keep children close to the sand.
Early morning low tides are the holy grail — calm water, golden light, and dolphins feeding right off the tip of the sandbar.
