"There's a moment when you walk far enough up the beach and the crowds fall away, the inlet opens up in front of you, and you realize — oh, this is the whole point of coming here."

— the idea behind discoverthepoint.com

It started the way most good things do — by accident. On a family trip to Cherry Grove, someone said "let's just keep walking" and we did, all the way to the very tip of the island where the sand runs out and the water wraps around you on both sides.

We stood there for a long time. Pelicans landed nearby. The inlet glittered. Nobody else was around. It felt like a secret — which was strange because The Point isn't hidden at all. It's right there at the end of the beach, waiting for anyone willing to make the walk.

But we kept meeting first-time visitors who had no idea it existed. Families who spent a whole week at Cherry Grove and never made it to the tip. People who showed up at high tide when the sandbar had disappeared under two feet of water and came away wondering what all the fuss was about.

That's why Discover The Point exists. To make sure you know about The Point before you get there. To help you time it right, walk it right, and arrive knowing exactly what you're walking into — and why it's worth every step.

We cover everything from tide charts and morning walk guides to kayak routes, shell hunting spots, seasonal conditions, and the best places to refuel nearby. Think of this as your locally-sourced, tide-aware guide to Cherry Grove's best feature.
